I recently had a meet up with a friend and former leader and we had a good catch up. In the midst of the conversation, he brought up a point that stuck on for the rest of my week – a question that I’ll be asking myself more often from now on: “are my conversations meaningful?”
I know as teenagers we like to go out with our friends and just have fun without having a care – don’t get me wrong that’s awesome (And of course I engage in my own fair share of stupidity ^^) – but really, how often do we engage in meaningful conversations? Conversations about things that really matter? Genuine conversations that are beneficial – to both parties? Thinking about it, meaningful conversations are how bonds are formed between two individuals, really… and how you find yourself investing in friendships that will go a long way 🙂
So yeah! A note to self to be more intentional with my meet-ups – to learn how to love and care for those around me more; to invest more of my time and effort into people and lives rather than material things.
Ending my short post, here is a Bible verse that I personally love and am learning to live by 🙂 In my daily conversations, may I learn to be more encouraging – to use my words to build up and not tear down. May my words be gracious.
