A friend sent this verse to me yesterday and it just reminded me once again of how fulfilled life is when I “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”.
Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness as in – prioritizing the things of God over the things of man. Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness as in – not placing the things of this world higher than they ought to be; not holding on to them so tightly as though they will last.
With placing God and His will as utmost priority comes a change in us towards things – such as the way we choose to speak, the use of our finances, our time management, the weight of our decisions… basically our whole outlook in life. Everything starts to revolve around the one truth we know – the one truth we want the world to know: The Gospel. And when all of that happens, worry goes! (as Matthew 6 addresses) because our mind no longer focuses on the here and now, but on eternity. And as we get our priorities right, God provides for us His children.
This is a reminder for me – as I reflect back, it’s seems that when I’ve got that order right: kingdom of God > this world , that’s when I find that life is most meaningful and when I find the most fulfillment and true satisfaction in Christ.
I would like to encourage my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, whichever point you may be in life, to keep running this race holding on to this promise – that as you fix your eyes on Jesus and let Him be the center, “all these things shall be added unto you” – because our God is faithful and He never fails.
